Welcome to the new modelleroo9 website
This site is mainly about my long time passion for narrow gauge railways and narrow gauge railway modelling, and for my other interest, woodturning. There are also links to the Sodbury Vale Model Railway Club website.
I have been interested in narrow gauge railways and modelling since way back in the mists of time (circa 1964) when I bought my first copy of Railway Modeller (second-hand at a school fete) and read an article about a layout based on the County Donegal. I have recently discovered that the article featured the well-crafted model of the County Donegal by George Hanan. I was intrigued and then in 1966 I enjoyed a trip on the Talyllyn Railway in west Wales. I was hooked. The other influence over my modelling over the years has been Pendon Museum (near Abingdon), where the railways are apparently subservient to the landscape!
